Qualifying Fees and Dates

City of Hazlehurst Supervisor of Elections Christy Riner this week announced qualifying fees and important dates for the 2023 City of Hazlehurst elections set for Nov. 7.
On the ballot will be the Mayor’s race and elections of council members from Wards 3 and 4.
Qualifying fee for Mayor is $360 and the qualify fee for the council seats is $72.
There is a 3-day qualifying period, Aug. 21-23. Qualifying opens at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21 and closes at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23. Qualifying will be held at the Jeff Davis County Board of Elections’ office at the Jeff Davis County Courthouse.
The last day to register to vote in the election is Oct. 10.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 7. If there is a need for a runoff, the date will be Dec. 5.
