Public hearings scheduled

The City of Hazlehurst has scheduled a series of public hearings to allow the public an opportunity to express their opinions on the city’s proposed property tax increase, which is 30.09% above the rollback millage rate which would have brought in the same amount of tax revenue levied by the City in 2025.
Two hearings will be held next Wednesday, Oct. 14, one in the morning at 10:30 and the other at 6 p.m.
The third hearing will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4:30 p.m.
All three hearings will be held at City Hall on Cromartie Street.
