More Solar Panels Coming

Green Power EMC and Silicon Ranch have announced an agreement to build additional solar power projects in three counties in southeast Georgia, including Jeff Davis County.
Silicon Ranch plans to build them in stages over the next three years. Green Power EMC will purchase the energy generated on behalf of its member cooperatives.
The first site, Snipesville III, will be a 107 MWAC solar facility in Jeff Davis County. Construction is expected to begin later this year, and is scheduled to be in operation by mid-2023. The site will be close to two other cooperative solar projects: Snipesville I in December 2020 and Snipesville II in December 2021.
The second site will be in Lee County and the third site in Montgomery County.
Silicon Ranch has committed to make significant capital investments and hire local craft workers in Jeff Davis, Lee, and Montgomery counties to construct the projects over the next three years. Once the projects are operational, they will generate millions of dollars in new tax revenues to support the local economies, governments, and school systems of these rural communities for decades to come.
