22 Jackets earn region honors

A record 22 members of the 2021 Jeff Davis High Football Team received All-Region Honors in a vote of region coaches.
Topping the list were linebacker Tre Chandler, who was named the Region 2-AA Defensive Player of the Year, and defensive back/wide receiver/returner CJ Parker, who was selected the region’s Athlete of the Year.
Five Yellow Jacket players were named to the 1st Team Offense: running backs Aahiyus Allen and Kiyon Dotson, and linemen Nate Lewis, Jacob Strom and Matt Glass.
Two more Jackets were named to the 1st Team Defense: lineman Miyon Conaway and defensive back Mike Dotson.
Named to the 2nd Team Offense were linemen Connor McLoon and Curtis Morgan.
Getting 2nd Team defense honors were lineman Amarion Mitchell, linebackers Landon Roberson and Carter Mullis, and defensive back Kade Harpe.
Punter Kade Harpe was named to the 1st Team Special Team while placekicker Angel Mendez got Honorable Mention notice.
Honorable Mention picks for both offense and defense were running back Kyrese Hunt, offensive lineman Will Cravey, quarterback Tyeson Alls and defensive lineman Dalton Sellers.
Seventeen of the 22 honorees are seniors. Underclassmen chosen were juniors Amarion Mitchell and Will Cravey, sophomores Kiyon Dotson and Carter Mullis, and freshman Kyrese Hunt.
