The Jeff Davis Sheriffs’ Drug Unit and the Hazlehurst Police Department Drug Investigator rounded up a half dozen individuals last week for drugs and weapons charges with two simultaneous searches and one follow up search.
On Nov. 8 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Sheriffs’ Deputies and drug investigators conducted an investigation in the Snipesville Community. As a result, three individuals were found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm. A search warrant was conducted at the residence soon after, additional methamphetamine, marijuana and another firearm were located.
James Roy Smith Jr. of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Camila Marianna Orduna of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
At the same time investigators conducted a search at a residence on North Williams Street in Hazlehurst. Three individuals were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, illicit prescription medications, fentanyl and a large quantity of cash.
Jolene Peterson of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax), possession of a drug related object, probation violation and is a wanted fugitive from Florida for unrelated charges.
Monica Lajoie of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule V controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and possession of a drug related object.
Michael Weldon of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related object.
On Nov. 9 at approximately 11 a.m. investigators conducted a search at a residence on Mulberry Road in the Snipesville Community. A firearm and quantities of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana were discovered.
Kalvin Wayne Smith Jr. of Jeff Davis County was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a first offender, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and probation violation.
