Hagan wins special election runoff

Toombs County’s Leesa Hagan narrowly defeated Appling County’s Wally Sapp in Tuesday’s special election runoff to choose a replacement for State Rep. Greg Morris. Hagan got 51.69% of the vote to Sapp’s 48.31% — 3,131-2,926.
Sapp won Jeff Davis County’s Altamaha District 292-72 (80.22%) and Appling County (92.62%). Hagan took Montgomery County 727-239 (75.26%) and Toombs County 2170-362 (85.70%).
