Seven new Hall of Famers to be inducted

Seven new members will be inducted into the Jeff Davis High football program Hall of Fame at the annual Legends Gala set for June 18.
New members chosen by existing Hall of Fame members are Arley Finley from the 1950s-1960s, Sammy Beecher from the 1970s, Dexter Knox from the 1980s, Jason Carver from the 1990s, Matt Wise from the 2000s, former coach the late Neil Graham as a Supporting Role member and Ledger Editor-Purser Tommy Purser, also as a Supporting Role member.
The Gala will be held at BKY Event Hall on the Baxley Highway and will include the 2021 inductions, a steak dinner, the 2021 Legends Number Ceremony, a $1,000 reverse raffle, a silent auction and a social hour to conclude the event.
Tickets are $30 each and reserved tables for 10 people are $300. Proceeds benefit the Jeff Davis Touchdown Club.
The Friday night Gala will be followed Saturday with a golf tournament at Little Ocmulgee State Park in McRae, with a $10,000 hole in one prize, and a “Catchdog Contest” which includes long drive, putting contest and chipping contest. Entry fee for the 4-man scramble is $400 per team and $5 each for the putting and chipping contests. Proceeds go to the Jeff Davis Touchdown Club.
