Run-Around Lane Coming

Today J. Hiers Company began work on a Georgia DOT quick response project to add safety at US 221/Uvalda Highway and Hallspur Road. The contract will add a right-hand “run-around lane” for northbound travel to avoid rear end crash potential and also realign the intersection. Crews will impact traffic at times between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday until complete. The official finish date is May 31 though the construction should wrap before that time.
