Mrs. Gina Smith Rozier, 56

Mrs. Gina Smith Rozier, 56, passed away March 4.
She was born April 14, 1969, in Douglas to Alfred Smith and the late Jenny Smith. Since 2011, she fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, showing incredible strength and determination throughout the years.
To know Gina was truly to love her. She had a bright, bubbly personality and never met a stranger. Her warmth and kindness drew people in, and she had a special way of making everyone around her feel welcome. Gina loved God and her family deeply and made sure they always knew just how much they meant to her.
Gina worked for a time with the United States Postal Service, but many knew her best as the ultimate dance mom. She had a love for dance that began in her own high school years as a member of the Strutters dance team at Jeff Davis High School. She also spent part of her life working as a cosmetologist. No matter where life took her, Gina carried her joyful spirit and love for others with her.
She rarely went anywhere without her beloved cat, Lucky, who was always by her side. Gina especially cherished the time she spent with her children, her grandchild, and Lucky. Being surrounded by those she loved most brought her the greatest happiness.
Gina was a beautiful soul who left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by many and remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into the world.
Gina is survived by her father, Alfred Smith of Snipesville; daughter Jenna (Jacob) of Darien; son Cameron of Atlanta; the father of her children Kent Rozier of Townsend; beloved cat Lucky; brother Gregory Smith of Snipesville; and first grandchild Jentri Batten of Darien.
Services were held March 7 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Denton with the Rev. Doug Weisel officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kirk Munsayac, Lance Smith, Jacob Batten, Kent Rozier, Steven Wright and Loyd Johnson.
While her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in knowing Gina is now healed and at peace in the presence of the Lord.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
