Mr. James Kelly Griffin, 41
Mr. James Kelly Griffin, 41, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sept. 5 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Dec. 13, 1983, in Savannah, Kelly lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and an infectious sense of humor that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A proud graduate of Toombs County High School, Kelly built a career as a salesman at Beasley Forest Products, where he earned the admiration of his colleagues — and the unofficial, self-proclaimed title of “Vice President,” a running joke that perfectly captured his playful spirit and quick wit.
Kelly was a devoted member of The Rock Worship Center in Alma. His faith and fellowship were a source of strength and inspiration to his church family. Known for his joyful personality and love of joking around, Kelly had a gift for making people laugh and lighting up every room he entered.
Kelly’s devotion to Christ wasn’t just something he spoke about — it was something he lived. Whether he was lending a hand, offering a word of encouragement, or simply sharing a smile, his actions reflected the grace and compassion of his Savior. He often reminded others that no one was too far gone for God’s love, and he had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and uplifted. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he inspired many to seek a deeper relationship with God through his example.
He cherished time with his family, especially camping trips and beach vacations filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Above all, Kelly was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Denise, and their beloved children: Wesley, Waverly, Bethany, Kyler, and Grayson.
Kelly is also survived by his brothers, Keith Griffin (Gina), Kenny Griffin (Becky), and Kevin
Griffin (Jodi); his sisters, Amber White and Amanda White; and many extended family members and close friends who will deeply miss his humor, kindness, and warmth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Griffin and Julia Roberson.
A celebration of life will be held Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at Free Them Ministries, 143 Tallahassee Church Road, Hazlehurst. Pastor Bryan Taylor and Pastor Darrell Hand will officiate as family and friends gather to honor Kelly’s life, share stories, and celebrate the joy he brought to all who knew him. Kelly’s legacy of love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in the hearts of his family. friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
