Mr. Grant Joshua ‘Josh’ Brinkley I, 54

Mr. Grant Joshua “Josh” Brinkley I, age 54, of Hazlehurst, passed away May 28 at his residence.
Josh was born Jan. 3, 1972, in Jesup. He was owner and operator of GJB Trucking and had a trade in carpentry. He was preceded in death by his father Gary Brinkley, uncle Terry Brinkley and niece Hannah Brinkley.
Survivors include his daughter Layla Brinkley (Nathan) Butler; son Grant Brinkley; mother Patsy Beasley; brothers Jamar Brinkley and Jarone Brinkley; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held June 2 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Hand officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Grant Brinkley, Carson Brinkley, Josh Cornett, Jordan Cornett, Dakota Darley and Heath Bodenhamer.
“To know Josh was to love him. He loved to make people laugh and was quite the jokester. He did something that most of us forget to do – just simply laugh. He was a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin that was loved beyond measure. His presence here will truly be missed. We will hold on to the memories of you forever more. Until we meet again, fly high our angel. – Over and out, Rude Dog.”
Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst Chapel was in charge.
