Mr. Charles William Mabey Jr., 77

Mr. Charles William Mabey Jr., 77, of Hazlehurst, passed away May 24 at Meadows Rehab in Vidalia under the care of Affinis Hospice.
Mr. Mabey was born June 5, 1948, in Hawthorne, N.J. He had a career in law enforcement and retired from CCA Federal Prison. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Meyer Mabey.
Survivors include his daughters Christine Mabey, Jessica Mabey, Danielle Mabey and Stephanie Mabey; sons Charles W. (Susan) Mabey, Marty (Chelsea) Mabey, Stephen Mabey, Anthony Mabey, and Gabe Smith; father Charles William Mabey Sr.; sisters Joanne Ruske and Laura (Tony) Stamedis; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held June 4 in the chapel of Swain Funeral Home Hazlehurst with the Rev. Glen Hancock officiating.
