Mrs. Rosa Lee Wilcox, 86

Services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Wilcox, 86, who died Aug. 24, were held at Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church with Bishop Kendall Shaw officiating. Participating in the services were Minister Rudena Blackshear, Elder Dorothy Dotson, Minister Cameron Knox, Pastor Eddie Harmon, Deacon Dywane Johnson, and Pastor Tara Wilcox-Woody. Music was provided by Calvin Wilcox Jr. Burial was in Northview Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilcox was born May 4, 1934, to the late David and Marie Parrish in Hazlehurst. She attended Hazlehurst High School and worked as a domestic worker for over 25 years. She was a member of Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church where she served in various roles. She was a licensed minister of National Conference House of God, served as secretary of the Usher Board for many years and remained an honorary member. She was president of the Home Mission Board, was Church Mother and taught Sunday School. She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Wilcox Sr., children Ray, Donnell, Wanda Faye and Douglas Jr., and siblings Katie, Mattie, Jim, Joe, Pooler and David.
Survivors include children Marva Drayton, Annette Wilcox, Calvin Wilcox Sr., all of Hazlehurst, Mickey Wilcox of Douglas, Angela Crawford of Jesup; brother-in-law Charles Wilcox of Hazlehurst; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many other relatives; special son Vasco Wooten of Hazlehurst and Michelle Copeland of Forest Park; spiritual daughters Debra Powell and Lula Harmon.
Active pallbearers were Jeffery Bennett, Marshall McLeod, Tarrence Holland, Stevie Wooten, Malcolm Rainey and Gary Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church.
Flower attendants were nieces.
King Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
