Mother Sarah Inez Williams, 101
The funeral for Mother Sarah Inez Williams was held Dec. 7 at Alamo Full Gospel Church of God, Alamo.
Officiating Ministers were Bishop Willam Hollis, Pastors Frank and Lavonne Benyard, Apostle Lorraine Drake
Special singing was by Alamo Full Gospel Church Choir and Deacon Kenray King
Sarah Inez (Pittman) Williams, 101, was born Sept. 21, 1918, in Statesboro to the late Barto and Sarah (Callaway) Pittman. Inez, the widower of the late D. B. Williams, was peacefully called home by the Lord Nov. 26.
Inez, affectionately known as Granny, accepted Christ at an early age. Granny worked many years as an experienced housekeeper, cook and caregiver. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant nature, she was loved by many.
Granny was a devoted mother of nine children. Survivors include sons Johnnie Lee Edwards, Sam (Pam) Edwards and Herman Perry, and daughter Rose Marie (Archie) Bryant; 33 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by children Shirley Ann Cray, Jessie Mae Walcott, Bobby “Rocky” Lorenzo Perry, Dorothy B. Williams and Rosaland D. Ferguson.
Burial was in Mt. McRae Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Herman Perry Jr., Ronesta Williams, Ted Anderson, Darvein Ruth,
Quinterrius Williams and Telly Hall Jr.
King Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
