Mr. William Luther Lambert, 82

Mr. William Luther Lambert, 82, of Hazlehurst passed away Dec. 1 in Sarasota, Fla.
He was born April 21, 1937, in Douglas. William was married for 51 years to Glennise “Glennie” Lambert née Hick, who predeceased him.
William is survived by his second wife, Paula Jeanette Bloodworth-Lambert née McDonald of Hazlehurst; sister and brother-in-law Lucy and William Shalata of Noxen, Penn.; sons and daughter-in-laws William and Mia Lambert Jr. of Ruskin, Fla., and Robby Lambert and Sandy Cross of Harveys Lake, Penn.; daughters and son-in-laws Aleshia and Terry Polk and Angelene and Alex Peters, both of Riverview, Fla.; step-children, Wendy Rowlett of London UK, and Paula Darley, Jim Bloodworth, John Bloodworth, and Jeff Bloodworth, of Hazlehurst; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill served his country for 13 years in the Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. During his military career, he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at Simmons Loop Baptist Church, 6610 Simmons Loop, Riverview, Fla. His interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Fla., Dec. 16 at 9 a.m.
