Mrs. Dorris Elizabeth Jackson, 60

Services for Mrs. Dorris Elizabeth Jackson, 60, who died Nov. 18 at Hazlehurst Court and Rehabilitation Center, were held Nov. 23 at Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church in Hazlehurst.
Pastor Christopher D. Johnson and Pastor Reuben Bennett Jr. officiated with burial in Francis Chapel Cemetery in McRae.
Mrs. Jackson, born in Jeff Davis County, was the daughter of the late Henderson and Charlene Briggs. She was reared by her maternal grandparents, the late Charlie Sr. and Mattie Lou Bennett. She was educated in Jeff Davis County School System and was a faithful member of Big Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, son, Untron Briggs and Raquill Briggs; sister, Vicky Briggs and brother, Keith Briggs.
Survivors include her husband, Bennon Jackson; daughters, Shatorra (Kenneth) Holman and Angela (Cedric) Moore; siblings, Jerrell Briggs and Sheron Briggs; niece, Hiawatha Briggs; grandchildren, Reqwanie Holman, Keorra Holman, Kayman Holman, Kiara Holman, Keenan Bryany, Izaih Moore, and Josiah Moore and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Second Generation Bennett Blue Shirts.
Honorary pallbearers were Uncle Charlie Bennett, Uncle Jim Bennett, Uncle Reuben Bennett Sr. and Uncle Ray Bennett.
Music was rendered by the Choir.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
