Mrs. Myrtice Brewer Coley, 92, of Lumber City, went home to be with her Lord Sept. 01 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Mrs. Coley was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Lumber City to the late Claud Brewer and the late Bessie Powell Brewer.
She was a homemaker and a member of Shelton’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Lumber City and attended Folkston United Methodist Church while living with her son for the past eight years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, M.M. (Mack) Coley, two brothers, Henry Lee Brewer and Kibbie Brewer, and sister, Bertha Mae Cameron.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Rollene Coley of Folkston and Keith and Debbie Coley of Lumber City; grandchildren, Allen (Jennifer) Coley, Josh Coley, Stacy (Scott) Conner, Jason Coley, Rocky Duncan Jr., Shanna Hooker, Zach (Kim) Coley; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Matthews and Claudia Clements; special friends, Laura and Tony Layfield, John and Katie and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held Sept. 4, 2019 in Shelton’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Underwood officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Zach Coley, Jason Coley, Allen Coley, Josh Coley, Rocky Duncan Jr. and John Layfield.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
