Mrs. Betty Jean Rowell Brown, 85

Mrs. Betty Jean Rowell Brown, 85, of Hazlehurst, died June 29 at Navicent Healthcare in Macon.
Ms. Brown was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Jeff Davis County to the late Odell Rowell and the late Bessie Selph Rowell. She was retired from Bank of Hazlehurst and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Brown.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Brenda Brown of Hazlehurst and Gary and Sharon Brown of Hazlehurst; sisters, Martha Sellers (Larry) of Gray and Charlene Hall (Clyde) of Douglas; brothers, JR Rowell (Wilma) of Hazlehurst and Earl Rowell of Baxley; grandchildren Chase and Jessica Brown, Kolby and Jordan Brown, Kaleb and Breanna Brown and Kristen Brown; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 1 at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeffery Spell and the Rev. Deke Dubberly officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Brown Sunday School Class, the Charity Class and all friends in attendance.
Active pallbearers were Phil Carver, Larry Sellers Jr., Brandon Sellers, Matthew Rowell, Ricky Rowell and Bryant Beall.
Musical selections were rendered by Anna Smith and Hal Cox.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
