Mr. Steve Dixon, 94

Mr. Steve Dixon, 94, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Hazlehurst, died March 22 at his son’s home.
Mr. Dixon was born July 21, 1924, in Jeff Davis County to the late Albert (Buck) Dixon and the late Vera Nelms Dixon.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II, retired from Ryder Truck Lines and member of Hazlehurst Church of God.He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Kerns Dixon.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ray Steve and Marlea Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter, Stefanie Grace Dixon and great-granddaughter, Kirsten Pearl Rewis; step-sons, Jimmy (Edye) Kerns of Hazlehurst, Kel (Linda) Kerns of Hazlehurst; step-daughter, Karen (Tyrone) Hutchinson of Hazlehurst.
Services were held March 25 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Dixon officiating. Interment followed in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Harry Dixon, Niles Dixon, Rod Dixon, Richard Nelms, and Jeffery Spell.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
