Mrs. Shirley Selph Wood, 82

Mrs. Shirley Selph Wood, 82, of Hazlehurst, died Jan. 23 at her residence.
Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Jeff Davis County to the late Freeman Selph and the late Della McDonald Selph. She was previously employed with BC Moore’s and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Billy Wood and grandsons, Tyler Carter and Billy Lee Maddox, son-in-law, Sam Foskey, siblings, Eva Richmond, Maude Bourgoin, Net Hamilton, Grady, Tommy, S.T. and Johnny Selph.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Carter of Hazlehurst, Patricia Foskey of Hazlehurst and Brenda Maddox (Tommy) of Hazlehurst; son, Marshall Wood (Josie) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Will (Meg) Wood, Kellie (Kyle) Varnadoe, Chris (Ciara) Carter, Casey (Karleigh) Carter, Somer (Bryant) Kerns, Tabitha (Adam) Kauger, Candace (Brett) Hatton, Derek Foskey, Destiny Maddox, Lynsie Maddox, Danielle (Manning) Davis, Tiffany Maddox Morris and Thomas Jr. (Jessica) Maddox; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Jan. 25 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Yawn and Jimmie Ryles officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were E.H. Claxton Sunday School Class, Helen Harmon, Winnon Griffin, and Richard Davis.
Active pallbearers were Glenn Hart, Gary Hart, Wesley Griffin, Wadis Davis, Chad Shepard, Tommy Campbell and Greg Ussery.
Musical selections were rendered by E.H. Claxton.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
