Mrs. Georgie Nelle Ray, 81

Mrs. Georgie Nelle Ray, 81, of LaGrange, passed away Dec. 11 at her residence.
Mrs. Ray was born on Nov. 14, 1937, in Jeff Davis County to the late John Tapley and Juanita Riner Tapley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Richard Ray Sr.; daughter, Barbara Ray Swain; grandsons, David Adams and Timothy Ussery; sister, Johnnie Belle Findley; brother, Sammie Tapley; son-in-law, Norman Ussery.
She is survived by her children Sandra (Ricky) Adams, Joe Swain, Opal (Gene) Hogg, Nita (Toby) Jeffcoat, Jonna Ussery, J. Richard (Heather) Ray Jr. and Trampas Ray; grandchildren Gene (Ashley) Adams, Joseph (LeAnn) McNeal, Shauna (John) Riggs, Stacy (Thomas) Green, Brandon (Lyza) Jeffcoat, Thomas Ussery, Kathryn (Brandon) Parrott, Jonathan (Karen) Ussery, Rebekah Hogg, Ashley (Tommy) Chatham, Jennifer (Eric) Young, Christopher Hogg, John Richard Ray, William Tapley Ray, MeiLynne Ray and Angela (Tim) Blakley; siblings Kenneth (Maureen) Tapley, Frances (Robert) Floyd, Atha Richerts, Troy Tapley, Becky Stewart, Aubrey Tapley, and Tony (Karen) Tapley; a host of great-grandchildren; a beloved extended family; and many dear friends
Services were held Dec. 15 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Minister Larry Bird officiating. Interment followed at Meadoway Gardens. Family received friends Friday evening at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel.
