Mrs. Betty Catherine Rentz Selph, 89

Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the funeral for Mrs. Betty Catherine Rentz Selph, 89, of Brooklet, formerly of Hazlehurst.
After a long and full life on Jan. 4 she passed peacefully into heaven at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro.
Services were held Jan. 9 in North Gate Baptist Church.
The Rev. Kenneth Harrellson officiated with burial in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Mrs. Selph was born in Ware County. She was the daughter of the late James Floyd Rentz and Hattie Carter Rentz and was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. She was a retired bookkeeper for Atlantic Mutual Insurance and Bill Kehoe Tire Company. Mrs. Selph was co-owner of C and S Lawncare and was a member of Blitchton First Baptist Church in Blitchton. She was a proud, strong Southern woman, devoted to her family and faith. One of her many joys was hosting large family celebrations where she delighted all with her cooking and baking skills. Mrs. Selph loved all people and their company but reserved a special place in her heart for animals, especially horses.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years Grady Selph of Brooklet; children Elizabeth Dadin (Cleveland Burkhalter), Sharon and Douglas Currie, Tony and Sara Crosby all of Savannah, Randy Selph of Augusta, Debbie and Charlie Hodges of Lyons and Cindy and Glenn Hart of Bloomingdale; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Music was rendered by Debbie Hodges.
Active pallbearers were Kelly Gunn, Alex Gunn, Henry Woley, Gage Hobgood, Mark Rentz, Paul Grzybowsky and Jeremy Holbert.
Miles Funeral Home was in charge.
