Mr. Lowell Stone, 91

Mr. Lowell Stone, 91, of Hazlehurst, died Oct. 24 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Mr. Stone was born May 31, 1927, in Jeff Davis County to the late Harlow Clayton Stone and the late Minnie Lee Burk Stone. He was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Bridgeford Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Stone of Hazlehurst; daughter, Aletha (Burk) Mobley of Cairo; son, Wade (Molly) Stone of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Martin (Faye) Stone of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Dottie (Chris) Taylor of Cairo, Jackie (Kyle) Moye of Cairo, Jessie Stone of Jacksonville, Fla., and Scott Campbell of Jacksonville, Fla.; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Oct. 26 at Bridgeford Church of God with the Rev. Wayne Merritt, the Rev. Tyrone Hutchinson, the Rev. Jeremy DeLoach and Jimmy McLeod officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were all friends and family in attendance.
Active pallbearers were Jesse Stone, Scott Campbell, Richard Denmark, Jason Pearce, Dave Johnson, Kel Kerns, Tony Darley and John Worth.
Musical selections were rendered by Nita McLeod, Beverly Swain, Wade Ross, Jackie Moye, Frank Hendrix, Gary Merritt, Greg Brantley and Lindon Brantley.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
