Mrs. Peggy Brown Cox Long, 90
Mrs. Peggy Brown Cox Long, 90, of Dublin, died Aug. 12 at Shamrock Nursing Home in Dublin.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Farris Cox officiating, with interment at 3:30 p.m. at Oak View Cemetery in Hazlehurst.
Mrs. Long was a native of Baxley, a former member of World Harvest Church in Dublin and Eastman First Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Okla., enjoyed crafting, ceramics, painting, and decorating, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Dupent Brown and Johnnie Partin Sellers and was preceded in death by her former husbands, Wells Cox and Wydell Long, son, Phil Prescott, and six siblings.
Survivors include son Dr. Farris Cox (Tammy) of Destin, Fla.; grandsons – Austin Cox and Matthew Cox (Natalie); sister Jacqueline Cromartie of Albany; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12-1 p.m. Aug. 16. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to World Harvest Church, 2778 GA Hwy. 257, Dublin, GA 31021.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman has charge.
