Mrs. Christine Thompson Atkinson, 83

Mrs. Christine Thompson Atkinson, 83, of Hazlehurst passed away June 23 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Atkinson, the daughter of the late Ben Allen Thompson and Cora Parkerson Thompson, was a native of Coffee County, having resided in Jeff Davis County most of her life. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by sons, Thomas, Jimmy, and William Atkinson, and grandson, Jimmy Atkinson Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Chapman Atkinson of Hazlehurst; daughter, Karen Dean of Rossville; son, Raymond Atkinson of Hazlehurst; seven grandchildren; two great-grands.
Graveside services were held June 26 in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Deek Dubberly officiating.
Active pallbearers were Christopher Dean, Stanley Dean, Steven Hedrick, Caleb Lee, Nathan Atkinson and Riley Atkinson.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
