Tennis defeats Rabun, Thomasville
The Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets tennis program continues to make a powerful statement in the state tournament, as both the boys and girls teams have advanced to the Elite Eight with commanding performances last week.
On the girls’ side, Jeff Davis delivered a dominant 3-0 sweep over Rabun County on Monday. The Lady Yellow Jackets showcased depth and composure across the courts, securing straight-set victories and controlling each match from the baseline to the net. Their efficiency and focus allowed them to quickly punch their ticket to the next round.
Not to be outdone, the Jeff Davis boys matched that performance with a decisive 3-0 victory over the Thomasville Bulldogs. The Yellow Jackets displayed strong serving, aggressive net play, and consistent shot-making, overwhelming their opponents and continuing their postseason momentum.
With both teams advancing, the stakes now rise as Jeff Davis prepares for the next challenge. The boys and girls squads returned to the courts Monday, where they faced Banks County in the Elite Eight round.
As the tournament intensifies, the Yellow Jackets are playing some of their best tennis of the season at exactly the right time. With balanced lineups, confident doubles teams, and strong leadership, Jeff Davis looks to continue its deep playoff run and push toward a state championship appearance.
