Mrs. Mickie Lee Kersey Jenks, 58

Mrs. Mickie Lee Kersey Jenks, 58, of Hazlehurst, passed away Feb. 15 at her home.
She was born June 22, 1967, in Baxley to Martin Lee Kersey and Kathleen Muncey Hicks. She was raised in Jeff Davis County and was a faithful member of Eureka Baptist Church. She was a strong and resilient woman who was known for being trustworthy, loyal and comforting — always there for anyone who needed her. She had a good heart and would often do without herself just to help someone else. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being surrounded by her family, who truly were her world. She also dearly loved her dogs, Bobo and Lonestar, who were her babies. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard, taking trips to the beach, fishing, listening to music, and spending time painting and doing arts and crafts.
Mickie is preceded in death by her father, Martin Lee Kersey and her husband, Bobby Jenks.
She is survived by her mother Kathleen Muncey Hicks of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; sons Alex Cook (Brianna) of Brunswick and Michael Kersey of Hazlehurst; daughter April Sickles (Christopher Dena) of Hazlehurst; step-daughter, Jennifer Jenks; brother Rocky Muncey (Terry) of Brunswick; sisters Tammy Sharp (Steve) of Sunbright, Tenn., Sherry Marsh (Lee) of Loudon, Tenn., and Darlene Porterfield (Sam Smith) of Jesup; grandkids Dustin Reeves Jr., Christian Sickles and Maddison Sickles; special cousin Susan Terry (Timmy) of Hazlehurst; special friends Mark Mathis and Jackie Meeks Young; special neighbor and friend in Christ Sayaka Sloan; and many special step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life was held Feb. 19 at Eureka Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Creamer officiating.
Miles Funeral Home was in charge.

I miss you very much sissy, I love you and I will see you again when my time comes.
