Ms. Michele Taylor, 62

Ms. Michele Taylor, 62, of Hazlehurst, passed away Dec, 10 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas.
She was born Jan. 26, 1963, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late Wades Taylor and Bonnie Tanner Carter. For more than 30 years, she faithfully served as general manager of the Huddle House locations in Lumber City and later Hazlehurst. She truly loved her work and cared deeply for her coworkers and employees, always treating them as family.
Michele enjoyed cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs and listening to her favorite country music. She was outspoken, full of fire and never afraid to speak her mind. In her younger years, she was a talented singer and played the clarinet in band.
Above all, Michele was the heart of her family. Her loved ones often said, “She took care of all of us,” and she did — whether it was Christmas, birthdays, or simply someone who needed a helping hand. She always found a way to show up, support and give. She cherished her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gigi.”
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her fiancé Larry Beck; and her aunt and second mom, Jackie Medders.
Michele is survived by her son Dakota Hughes (Megan) of Hazlehurst; brother Wade “Buddy” Taylor Jr. (Melissa), of Lumber City; sister Deidre “Dede” Allen (Wayne) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Jax Hughes, Max Hughes, Kaiden and Allie; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Services were held Dec. 12 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Taylor and the Rev. David Deen officiating.
Burial followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Zachary Higginbotham, Blake Spell, Kelly Willams, Ja Sellers, Colby Meeks, Dusty Villalba, Zachary Meeks and JJ Javis.
Honorary pallbearers were Michele’s fellow Huddle House coworkers and employees.
