Mrs. Jacquline Hester Edge, 77

Mrs. Jacquline Hester Edge, 77, of Valdosta, passed away Sept. 18 at Langdale Hospice House.
She was born n Aug. 17, 1948, in Hazlehurst to the late David Jackson Hester and Lillian Dyal Hester. She was raised in Hazlehurst, later living in Fort Stewart and Atlanta before settling in Locust Grove, where she made her home for more than 40 years. Most recently, she moved to Valdosta to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
She worked as an administrative assistant in logistics for various trucking companies for over 40 years. Outside of her career, Jacquline had many passions. She loved reading, raising Labrador retrievers, training horses, and watching hummingbirds. She also had a fondness for clowns, which reflected her vibrant spirit.
A two-time breast cancer survivor, Jacquline was known for her strength, independence, and resilience. She was the rock of her family — fiercely protective, unafraid to speak her mind, yet always welcoming and nonjudgmental. She had an open heart and believed in giving others the chance to prove themselves. Those who knew her will remember her honesty, loyalty, and unwavering love for her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Freddie Dee Hester, Roger Stanley Hester, Larry Hester and Mitchell Milton (Mickey) Hester.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years James Lyle Edge; son Darryl Edge of Valdosta; daughter Rhonda Marlin (Lisa Tinney) of Valdosta; sisters Sandra Faye Carter and Brenda Hester Warren (Virgil), all of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Sierra MyKala Anderson (Thomas) of Marietta and Ravyn McKenzie Marlin of Duluth; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was held Sept. 21. at Palms Memorial Gardens with Pastor Brad Waters officiating.

Miles Funeral Home was in charge.
