Mrs. Claire McLendon, 83

Mrs. Claire McLendon, 83, of Hazlehurst passed away June 24 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
Mrs. McLendon was born July 23, 1940, in Rumford, Maine, to the late Roy A. Freeman and the late Verna C. Moore Freeman. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLendon was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny McLendon Tillman.
Survivors include her husband William A. McLendon of Hazlehurst; son Mark A. (Kim) McLendon of Hazlehurst; sister Jo-Ann Blanchard of Decatur, Tenn; brothers Randall (Marie) Freeman of Rumford, Maine; son-in-law Troy Tillman; grandchildren Ashley McLendon, Chace McLendon and Tyler Tillman.
A graveside service will be held June 27 at 10 a.m. at Graham Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Waters officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Chace McLendon, Tyler Tillman, Troy Tillman, Ronnie Harrell, Bill Johnston and Hal Cox.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst and Hospice of South Georgia and their special nurses, Caleb, Lynn, Jessie, Lisa and Kristian.
