Yawn will run in Blackburn

Dennis Yawn has announced that he will seek election as Jeff Davis County Commissioner for the Blackburn District.
Yawn was born and raised in Jeff Davis County. He has resided in the Blackburn District for the past 26 years. He is the son of Helen Yawn and the late Jimmy Yawn. In 1982, he graduated from Jeff Davis High School. Currently, he attends Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Yawn worked for several years at Alco. After that he became an owner/operator driving over the road loads throughout the country. He has also spent many years as a heavy equipment operator. He is currently employed by Jerry Rowland of Rowland Land Clearing.
Yawn said, “All these years I have paid attention to everything that goes on in this county, particularly the Blackburn District. There are a lot of changes that need to be made to better ourselves and our county. I will work hard and use common sense to do the job that needs to be done for Jeff Davis County.
“I will greatly appreciate your vote for me for County Commissioner Blackburn District. It will be an honor to serve Jeff Davis County.”
