Blue Team runs record to 5-0

Jeff Davis Middle School’s Blue Team ran their record to 5-0 win wins over East Laurens, one 12-2 on Tuesday in Hazlehurst and the other 20-6 Thursday in East Laurens.
Jacob Laney led the batting in the 12-2 win, with a triple, a pair of singles and three RBI.
Gunner Partin and Zayne Chaney each had a pair of singles, Tye Rea tripled and drove in two runs, Jeremiah Davis had a homer and two RBI, Trey Ramay had a single and two RBI, and Peyton Jones and Brody Tyner both singled
Seth Saunders was the winning pitcher. He went five innings, giving up one earned run on four hits, walking two, hitting one and striking out five. Jones pitched one inning, blanking East Lauren’s on one hit, no walks and two strikeouts.
Laney again had the hot bat in Thursday’s game, going 4-for-6 with a homer, three singles and five RBI. Davis hit for the cycle with a single, a double, a triple and a homer and four RBI. Rea also homered and had a single and two RBI. B. Tyner had a single, a double and three RBI. T. Ramay had a pair of singles and an RBI, Partin had a single and an RBI, and Chaney singled.
Gio Torres was the winning pitcher. He threw 3 1/3 innings, giving up two earned runs on is hits, walking two and striking out two. Laney pitched 2 2/3 innings, giving up no runs on one hit, walking one and striking out two, and Ramay pitched on inning giving up one run on one hits, walking one and striking out three.
