Mr. Jeffrey Lane Ellis, 70

Mr. Jeffrey Lane Ellis, 70, of Hazlehurst passed away after a sudden illness Aug. 22 at his residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.
Mr. Ellis was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Welch, W. Va., to the late Bill Ellis and the late Connie Cyphers Ellis. He was the owner and operator of Precision Paint & Body Center and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He was an avid aviator, hunter, and fisherman. Mr. Ellis was an antique automotive restorer, had a remarkable sense of humor, and was gifted at anything he tried. He was a devout Christian, devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Shirley Cain Ellis of Hazlehurst; daughters, Kim (Heath) Sellers of Baxley and Kelly (Chris) Williams of Statesboro; sister, Mary Sheilah (Bobby) Thornsbury of Jolo, W. Va.; brother, Randy W. Ellis of Middleburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Guner (Kasey) Sellers, Ryane (John Wesley) Lightsey and Emma Williams.
Services were held Aug. 25 at Heritage Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with the Rev. Ronnie Wilcox, and the Rev. Robert Wigley officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Scott Yawn, Kenneth Kirkland, Andy Hatton, Guner Sellers, Brent Kroll, and Eddis Dale Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearers were Heritage Baptist Men’s Sunday School Class, Ricky Lytle, Carroll Williams, Steve Underwood, Travis Wilcox, Larry Kirkland, Herman Sellers, Randall Brooks, staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Timmy Taylor, and Triple H Employees.
Music was rendered by Anna Jackson, Ronnie Wilcox Jr. and the congregation.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
