Mrs. Maxine Ryals Tyer, 75

Maxine Ryals Tyer of Irving, Texas passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on April 27 from a brain aneurysm at the age of 75.
Maxie was born in Perry. She was the third of five girls. Her parents were the late Mildred “Peggy” Ryals and Mack Ryals.
Maxie attended Jeff Davis High School. She skipped her senior year and went to Middle Georgia College, then the University of Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and later earned a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University.
Maxie is survived by her husband of 54 years, the Rev. Dr. Gerry Tyer. She is also survived by her four sisters, Patty and the late Bobby Beasley of Brunswick, Millie and Ted Yaun of Hazlehurst, Mary Ann and Greg Thompson, and Kaye Daniel of Uvalda, as well as eight nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held May 4 at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, Texas.
