Mr. Bobby Gene Floyd, 82

Mr. Bobby Gene Floyd was born on July 14, 1940, in Alamo to Deroy and Mammie Floyd. Mr. Bobby passed away April 22.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Deroy and Mammie Floyd; brothers W.D., Robbie James (Poss), and David Floyd; sisters Irene Williams, Frances Dyal, and JoAnn Floyd.
He is survived by sons Bobby Gregory Floyd (Debbie), and Ricky Floyd; daughter Sylina Cowart; grandchildren Victoria Floyd, Lexi Floyd, Garrett Floyd, Samantha Bergens (TJ), Timothy Cowart (Kristina); sister Hazel Taylor; brother J.E. Floyd; five great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Bobby worked at Greens Fuel then Coker Fuel for several years before going to work for the state of Florida in 1972. He started out at G Pierce Woods in Arcadia and eventually was transferred to the prison in Arcadia from which he retired in 2002.
After his retirement, Bobby moved back to Georgia to be closer to his siblings and eventually moved back to Florida to be with his children.
Bobby enjoyed listening to music and dancing. He enjoyed going to the Elvis show at the Panda restaurant in Wauchula. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
Services were held April 28 in the chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home. The Rev. Shon McEachin officiated. Burial was at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Wainright Parlor was in charge.
