Mr. Carol (Sponge) Taylor, 75

Mr. Carol (Sponge) Taylor, 75, of Hazlehurst, died March 3 at Community Hospice in Vidalia.
Mr. Taylor was born in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Council Taylor and Bertie Herrington Taylor, sister, Cleo Hayes, and brothers, Earl Taylor, Roy Taylor, and Elmer Taylor.
Carol was a simple man, he was a retired truck driver, he loved life and his family dearly and especially his grandbabies. He enjoyed drag racing and piddling on lawnmowers and he had a great sense of humor, he enjoyed making people laugh.
Survivors include his special friend, Denise Dyal of Lumber City; daughters and sons-in-law, Nikki and Chris Morrison of Hazlehurst and Misty and Cody Spires of McRae; sister-in-law, Miriam Taylor; nephews, Steven Taylor and Stacey Taylor; and grandchildren, Kimber and Brooke Morrison of Hazlehurst, Kason Hatton of Lumber City and Cali and Ellie Spires of McRae.
Services were held March 7 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Deen officiating. Interment followed in Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Davis, Lloyd Beecher, and Ricky Turner.
Active pallbearers were Chris Morrison, Cody Spires, Danny Morrison, Ben Glosson, Chester Powell, Kevin Powell, Mark Gillis, and Steven Taylor.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
