Mrs. Virginia Gladys Davis, 89

Mrs. Virginia Gladys Davis, 89, of Douglas, passed away Jan. 23. Mrs. Davis was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Tennessee to Thomas Sherman Gourley Sr. and Pearl Emmaline Roark Gourley. Virginia and her husband Coley owned and operated Davis Radiator and Welding for 60 years in Douglas.
Survivors include grandsons Dusty Hampton Davis (Candace) of Baxley and Roman Coley Davis of Denton; nieces Pearl Peacock (Allan) of Douglas, Virginia O’Steen (Sam) of Douglas and Modeena Deen of Broxton; great-grandchildren Rhett Hampton Davis and Lilly Grace Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Pearl Gourley, husband Coley Hampton Davis and son Mark Coley Davis.
Services were held Jan. 26 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Rev. Don Hattaway and brother Shep Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
