Mr. Claude Stone Jr., 77
Mr. Claude Stone Jr., 77, of Denton, passed away Jan. 29 at his residence. Mr. Stone was born Dec. 9, 1945, in Denton, to the late Claude Stone Sr., and the late Addie Wooten Stone.
Mr. Stone and his wife Connie were the Entrepreneurs of “Southern Vault Company” for 39 years. He was also retired from the United States Army.
One of his mottos was: “If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” He was loyal and devoted to his family and friends.
Survivors include wife of 53 years, Connie Beall Stone of Denton; sisters, Shirley Stone (Johnny) Caves of West Green, Linda Stone Smith of Hazlehurst, Sandra Stone (Lonnie) Moody of Hazlehurst; special niece, Jennifer Stone McCullar (Carl B. McCullar III) of Hazlehurst; Godsons, Carl Clyde McCullar, Matthew Claude McCullar of Hazlehurst.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harvey Stone, Jimmy Stone, Vyrlin Stone and Emory Stone; sisters Iva Stone King, Doris Stone Fletcher.
Graveside services were held Feb. 1 at Mount Pleasant (Byrd) Church in Jeff Davis County, with Jerry Wooten officiating.
Active pallbearers were Larry Dale King, Ronnie Stone, Robert Rivers, Carl Clyde McCullar, Matthew Claude McCullar, and Jerry Wooten.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Gideon’s or your
choice of charity.
