Mrs. Wilma Jean Davis Dean, 86

Mrs. Wilma Jean Davis Dean, 86, of Hazlehurst, formerly of Griffin, widow of William Luther Dean, died Oct. 26 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Hazlehurst, Aug. 18, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Bryant Oscar and Gertrude Scarborough Davis. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Hazlehurst.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Powell Thompson; brothers, Randall Davis, Charles W. Davis; and sister, Glenda Davis Jones.
Survivors include sons, Archie Powell and wife Susan of Middleburg, Fla., and Tim Dean and wife Denise of LaGrange; daughter, Teresa Spires and husband Preston of Milan; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lavada Welch of Macclenny, Fla., and Nina Faye Davis Prussack of Jacksonville; brother, Ronnie Davis of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Louann Davis of Lake City, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held Oct. 29= at West Sunnyside Community Church Cemetery with the Rev. Manford Gilbert officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Bible Baptist Church, 37 Bell Street, Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
