Mrs. Shirley Kersey Disharoon, 86

Mrs. Shirley Kersey Disharoon, 86, of Hazlehurst, passed away Dec. 15 at her residence.
Mrs. Disharoon was born June 24, 1936, in Jeff Davis County to the late Willie Lee Kersey and the late Ettie Yawn Kersey. She was a member of Macedonia Church of God and was a retired dietitian at Chapman’s Nursing Home. Mrs. Disharoon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Disharoon; granddaughter, Christy M. Wilcox; and son-in-law, Steve Williams.
Survivors include daughters Barbara (Danny) Varnadore of Hazlehurst, Dorothy (Larry) Harper of Jesup, Sharon (Glenn) Lord of Graham and Linda Williams of Hazlehurst; sons, Danny (April) Disharoon and Jimmy (Sheryl) Disharoon both of Hazlehurst; sister, Rosenell Thomas of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 18 from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Colter officiating.
Interment was in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Martin, Anthony, Justin, Brad, Stevie and Spencer.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
