Mrs. Mary Kight Jarrard, 90

Mrs. Mary Kight Jarrard, 90, of Hilton Head, S.C., formerly of Snipesville, died Dec. 15 at Carolines Cottage in Ridgeland, S.C.
Mrs. Jarrard was born in Denton. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Kight and Donnie Clifton Kight, brothers, Charles, George, John “Buddy” and Tunny, sisters, Gertrude, Edel, and Betty Jo.
She was a key punch operator, employed by Lockheed Air Craft Company for 27 years, and was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church until she married and moved to Atlanta.
She was an amazing lady with a “Very Strong Will,” and always had her own opinion on everything, but she also had a sweet, sweet disposition and a contagious smile for everyone. She was an amazing mother, raising two children on her own, she was a great cook, and in her younger days, she always found time to feed her son’s (Osborne High School) football team often.
Survivors include, her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Trudy Jarrard of Broxton; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Ann and Richard Denny of Atlanta; sisters, Diane Dunn of Snipesville and Donna Skeen of Atlanta; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.
Services were held Dec. 17 at Union Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Merle Webster officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
