Mr. Johnny L. Balcom, 74

Mr. Johnny L. Balcom was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Laurens County to the late Ben and Essie Balcom. He was a hard-working man who took care of his family. He was employed at Beasley Forest Product for three years.
He retired from the United States Army after serving 29 years. He served in Desert Storm, Persian War and more. He retired from Rayonier/Interfor after 24 years.
He is preceded in death by a son John Jacob Balcom, brothers Leon Balcom and Charles Balcom; and sister Earlene Fordham.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving, devoted wife of 52 years, Alice Balcom of Hazlehurst; daughters Rotunda Balcom (Lawrence) of Baxley, Angela Brown (Reshon) of Hazlehurst and LaDina Balcom of Hazlehurst; son Nathon (Shaniece) Balcom of Atlanta; brother Sammie Balcom (Hazel) of Atlanta; grandchildren Lennis Rooks, Johnathon Rooks, Jason Kemp, Dymere Balcom, Serenity Penn, Noah Penn, Drayden Balcom, Hayden Larry, Eugene Larry; great-grandchildren Kennison Rooks, Alexander Kelley, and Khalil Hill; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
