Mrs. Minla Lee ‘Minnie’ Kerns, 80

Mrs. Minla Lee “Minnie” Kerns, 80, of Hazlehurst, died Sept. 17 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia.
Mrs. Kerns was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Newton, N.C.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bill Horton and Bonnie Lee Rackley; grandson Tyler; brother-in-law Jr. Kerns.
Mrs. Kerns was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and lived in Hazlehurst for 42 years. In her free time, she enjoyed babysitting, baking cakes, quilting and spoiling her dog Bailee. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband Stuart for 63 years.
Survivors include husband Stuart Kerns of Hazlehurst; son Donnie Kerns (Robin) of Branford, Fla.; daughters Donna Worth (Scott) of Hazlehurst, Denise Davis (Wadis) of Hazlehurst, Dana Creamer (Russ) of Hazlehurst; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchildren; brother Bill Horton (Sarah) of Riverview, Fla.; sisters Ann Fischer (Ray) of Seffner, Fla., and Nancy Kerns of Taylorsville, N.C.
Services were held Sept. 20 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Shon McEachin and the Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.
Pallbearers were Jason Worth, Colt Kerns, Joshua Worth, Dylan Davis, Kaden Creamer, and Chase Wildes. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance. Interment was at Palms Memorial Garden.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
