Mr. Robert ‘Doug’ Anderson Jr., 54

Mr. Robert “Doug” Anderson Jr., 54, of Hazlehurst, died Sept. 6 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 12, 1967, in Jeff Davis County.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Douglas Anderson Sr., and was employed with Southeastern Freight Line.
Doug was one of a kind, so gentle, sweet spirit, and compassionate.
Nothing he loved better was driving his Jeep on the Beach while spending precious time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
He thought of himself as a grill master, and his family always enjoyed eating what he cooked. He would occasionally brag about being a professional corn hole player because he really enjoyed the sport, and was pretty good at it.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Peavey Anderson of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Brinson Douglas (Brint) and Alex Anderson of Senoia; granddaughter, Lydia James Anderson; mother Linda Nell Moon Anderson Pritchett of Hazlehurst.
Services were held Sept. 9 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with theRev. Brian Brazzell and the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
All family and friends in attendance and the staff and his co-workers of Southeastern Freight served as honorary pallbearers.
Darrell Creamer, Leonard Medders, Alton Westberry, Rusty Clements, Zac Newham, and Benji Poore served as active pallbearers.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
