Ms. Marlene Traviezo-Hernandez, 52
Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the funeral for Ms. Marlene Traviezo-Hernandez, 52, who passed away Aug. 29 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Ms. Marlene was born in San Pedro Sula, Cortes, Honduras. She came to the United States in 1994. She was a strong, independent, and hardworking person, and the most caring, selfless, and supportive parent. She has worked for the Jeff Davis school system in both elementary and high school. She has also worked for Hazlehurst Mills and was currently employed by Thompson Hardwood. Ms. Marlene enjoyed working, dancing, couponing, cooking, and the beach. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. Spending time with them brought her much pleasure.
Survivors include children Reyna Lemus (Luis Aguirre), Celeo Alcidez Lemus, Erika Lopez (Carlos Lopez), Erendida Gonzalez, Angela Gonzalez (Eduardo Solorio), Elsa Marlene Gonzales, and Seline Flores; mother and father Reyna Isabel Hernandez and Jose Gomez Medina of Hawkinsville; grandchildren Natalie, Joann, Zoey, Luis Jr., Nicolas, Analia, Julian, Arianna, Emannuel, Rosalia, and Avalynn; and a grand-dog “Michi”; her significant other of six years Ricardo Arreola; and sister Glenda Traviezo of Honduras. She was preceded in death by her brothers Denis Omar Lopez, Efrain Hernandez, and Carlos Hernandez, and grandparents Digna Sarmiento and Rufino Hernandez.
Services were held Sept. 2 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Brazzell officiating.
