Mrs. Sarah Helen Bohannon Carter, 79

Mrs. Sarah Helen Bohannon Carter, 79, of Hazlehurst, died July 7 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Ms. Carter was born March 25, 1943, in Appling County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Thomas Bohannon and Eddie Griffin Bohannon, husband, Jesse “Dub” Carter, daughter, Lisa Brewer, brothers, Dewitt Bohannon and George “Bobby” Bohannon. She was retired from Piggly Wiggly and a member of Lumber City Church of God.
When making trips to Piggly Wiggly, Sarah was always seen in the Deli cooking away. She loved flowers, wind chimes, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family.
Survived by sons, Joseph “Don” Wooten (Marie) of Hazlehurst, Billy D. Wooten (Jennifer) of Hazlehurst and Johnny Fowler of Florida; daughters, Denise (Brian) Wooten of Hazlehurst, Lynn Wooten of Hazlehurst and Barbara (Charlie) Crapps of Baxley; 24 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 11 at Liberty Community Church with the Rev. Johnny Taylor and the Rev. David Deen officiating. Darrell Johnson officiated at the cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Cody Stone, Alfred Johnson, Diane Kent, staff and friends of Piggly Wiggly and members of Lumber City Church of God.
Active pallbearers were Wadis Dubberly, Clay Dubberly, Joseph Wooten, Wesley Wooten, Billy A. Wooten and Carter Wooten.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
