Mrs. Barbara Ann Rigdon Spell, 73
Ms. Barbara Ann Rigdon Spell, 73, of Hazlehurst, died May 19 at Lumber City Nursing Home.
Ms. Spell was born May 24, 1948, in Jeff Davis County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Rigdon and Vera L. Rigdon, husband, Levi Spell, son, Stephen M. Spell and brother, William (Bill) Rigdon.
She was a financial manager and a member of Denton Baptist Church.
She loved working in her garden, feeding animals, spending time with grandchildren and family. One of the biggest impacts of her life was being a Nanny to many.
Survivors include, her son, Chris Spell (Charlotte) of Statesboro; daughter, Stephanie Pickren (Michael) of Hazlehurst; brothers, Charles (Belinda) Rigdon and Thomas (Debbie) Rigdon; sister, Ireta (J.W.) Wright; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nick) Trowell, Anna Gillis, Joshua Mallard, Belle Pickren, Sawyer Spell and Brooklynn Spell; great-granddaughter, Adelaide Trowell; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held May 23 in Denton City Cemetery with the Rev. Randall Kersey officiating.
Active pallbearers were Nick Trowell, Jonathan Wright, Mitchell Rigdon, Wendell Pickren, Shane Rigdon and Ron Williams.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
