Mr. Henry Bohannon, 82

Mr. Henry Bohannon, 82, died May 9, 2022 at Vitas Hospice Inpatient Care Unit, Rockledge, FL following an extended illness. He was born June 21, 1939 in Columbus, GA and was the youngest child of William Jasper (Bill) Bohannon and Mary Bell Kirkland (Hendrix, Bohannon, Ramey).
Following grade school, Henry was employed at Hazlehurst Mills, Hazlehurst, Ga. He then enlisted in the United State Army in July 1956, serving three years in the active Army and three years in the Army Reserves. While on active duty, he served a 16 month tour in Germany. He subsequently worked for the Piper Aircraft Company in Vero Beach, FL until his retirement. Mr. Bohannon was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Bell; two brothers, Arnell Hendrix (Shirley) and Jack Bohannon (Donna) and two sisters, Alma Bargeman (Leroy) and Evelyn Pelfrey (George).
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Biron (Mark) of Vero Beach, FL and Jeannie Elmore of Geneva, FL; two grandsons, Miles Biron and G.W. Elmore; brother, Johnnie Bohannon (Linda) of Orange Beach, AL and a sister, Mae Manning (John) of Concord, NC and by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home of Vero Beach, FL assisted the family. Following the cremation, the ashes will be interred in the Hazlehurst Cemetery, next to the burial site of his sister, Mae.
