Ms. Jean Newman Steptoe, 87

Ms. Jean Newman Steptoe, 87, of Denton, died March 13 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Ms. Steptoe was born Nov. 1, 1934 in Jeff Davis County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elias Newman and Marie Smith Newman, husband, Edward L. Steptoe, son, Ricky Steptoe and brother, J.M. Newman. She was retired shipping director with John Deere and a member of Macedonia Church of God.
Survivors include brothers, Donnie (Betty) Newman of Denton and Garry (Sue) Newman of Denton; sister, Lurine Kirkland of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Carolyn Newman of Denton; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held March 23 at Macedonia Church of God, visitation will start at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Vann McCall officiating and special friend, Terry Cook giving the eulogy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Linda Hodges, Ellen Deen and her church family.
