Mrs. Lucille B. Martin, 69
Mrs. Lucille B. Martin, 69, of Bonaire passed away April 9. A funeral service is scheduled for April 14 at 11 a.m. at Andrew United Methodist Church in Bonaire. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City. A visitation is scheduled for April 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Jim W. Dominey and the Rev. Bobby Gale will officiate.
Lucille was born June 29, 1952, in Hazlehurst to the late Seward and Viola Brewer Sr. She worked as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service in Bonaire for 20 years. Lucille was a member of Andrew United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, playing UNO with her daughters, and caring for her grandchildren. At one time, Lucille enjoyed playing tennis in Houston County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Lucille is preceded in death by siblings Isabelle Whitten, Seward Brewer Jr., Otis Brewer, J.P. Brewer, Onita Varnadoe, Sudie Hartley, Raleigh Brewer, Janie Lewis, and Loran Brewer.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Martin; daughters Charlotte and Crystal Martin of Bonaire, and Carrie (Beau) Buchanan of Kathleen; grandchildren Bailey and Olin Buchanan; sisters Barbara Scott of Towns, and Kay Tarpley of Baxley; and many nieces and nephews.
